Come Up To My Room, a group exhibition
2006
124 Pieces of Felt: A Primer for the Home was created by Kathryn Walter for the inaugural Come Up To My Room: Toronto's Alternative Design Event curated by Pamela Matharu and Christina Zeidler.
Robert Morris meets Martha Stewart in this minimalist, Do-It-Yourself Guide to Rustic Modern Living. The material of felt is explored through its broad range of physical properties as an insulator, a cushion, a padding, a liner. Felt is fire-resistant, cozy and organic, made from wool, a renewable resource. All items are fashioned from simple squares and rectangles of industrial felt to ensure maximum yield and low-waste production.
124 Pieces of Felt was exhibited as “a home fashion collection” in an installation with an accompanying catalogue publication designed with Lisa Kiss Design.
