CHAIR CHAIR was created for the exhibition Slanted/Enchanted curated by Jamie Wolford as part of DesignTO Festival.

Maria Hupfield and Kathryn Walter combined forces to show the range of form and technique available when working with industrial felt. Their two approaches cross art with design through the common everyday chair, demonstrating their individual and shared ideas and methods. The two chairs complement and contrast one another while both reflect the potential and limits of the material. The two artists have a history of working with felt in their own practices and here found inspiration in conversation and collaboration.
